Safety and privacy
Trust is part of the product.
What XLNC AI does, what it never does, and what we still owe you before any school goes live.
House rules
What it always does, and never does.
Built in
- A teacher approves feedback before students or parents see it.
- Student questions and AI answers pass a content check.
- A parent links to a child only with a teacher’s one-time code.
- Parents choose what XLNC AI may do for their child, and can withdraw.
- Take a pause offers a few fixed choices and keeps no personal record.
Left out on purpose
- No ads.
- No student work used to train AI.
- No labels for ability, attention, learning style or diagnosis.
- No rankings and no behaviour scores.
- No draft shown to a parent before a teacher approves it.
Where it runs
Where your data will live.
XLNC AI is still in development and has been tested with made-up data. No real student information is being handled.
Before any school goes live we will choose a secure, always-on host, name it publicly, and test what happens when it goes down. Our plan is hosting in India.
Until then, treat anything we say about hosting as a plan, not a promise.
Before a school goes live
What we still owe you.
None of these is ticked yet. We will tick each one publicly when it is done.
Consent and notice
A flow families can use, reviewed by a lawyer and the school, with a named person to contact and a way to withdraw.
Keeping and deleting
Clear limits on how long each kind of record is kept, and deletion that has been tested from end to end.
School separation
Tested so that one school can never see another school’s data.
Accuracy
AI feedback checked against teacher-approved answers for the pilot subject and grade, with a rule for when it should say it is not sure.
Hosting and outages
A secure, always-on host, careful handling of secrets, a plan for outages, and a named person responsible when something goes wrong.
Safeguarding
A protocol set by the school for any child who may be at risk, with a named adult responsible. Take a pause is learning support, not a safeguarding service.
Accessibility
A text-first path, keyboard and phone checks, and a review of the wording by educators.
This website
What this site collects.
No analytics, no advertising and no trackers, and our pages make no requests to other companies’ servers. Our web host may set one security cookie to keep automated traffic out; we do not use it to identify anyone. The waitlist stores only what you type into it, and you can remove yourself at any time.
Questions
Asked often, answered plainly.
Is XLNC AI private by default?
We are designing it that way, but we will not claim it until it has been tested and reviewed. That is what the checklist above is for.
Does an AI read my child’s work?
The AI reads answer sheets and questions to do its job. Student work is not used to train AI. If we ever use an outside AI provider, we will tell schools and families first. There is no silent fallback.
Who is responsible for the data?
The school decides how its students’ data is used, and XLNC AI handles it on the school’s behalf. That arrangement will be in writing before launch.
What if a child writes something worrying?
Messages that look like serious risk are kept out of normal tutoring, and the child is pointed to a trusted adult. Anything beyond that has to be a protocol the school sets. We will not build alerts without one.
Does XLNC AI follow India’s data protection law?
We are building to it: parental consent first, no behavioural monitoring of children, no ads. We will not claim compliance until a lawyer has reviewed it and the school’s data roles are agreed.
How do I ask about my data?
For this website’s waitlist, you can remove yourself at any time. For the app, the process will be in the privacy notice before any school goes live.
