How marking goes

Four steps, and the last is yours.

  1. Upload

Photos or PDFs of the answer sheets.

  2. Review

Spark drafts the marks, flags the concept each student missed with a next step, and notes any unanswered questions.

  3. Decide

Accept, edit or dismiss every flag. They are drafts, not verdicts.

  4. Approve

Only then do students see the feedback and parents hear about it.

House rules

What it always does, and never does.

Built in

  • Every flag is yours to accept, edit or dismiss.
  • Nothing reaches a student before you approve it.
  • Parents are told only after approval.

Left out on purpose

  • No ranking of children.
  • No labels for ability, attention or learning style.
  • Student work is not used to train AI.

Questions

Asked often, answered plainly.

Can I correct what Spark drafts?

Yes. Accept, edit or dismiss each flag. Only concepts you accept or edit ever reach the student.

Does it read messy handwriting?

It reads handwriting, and like any reader it can get things wrong. That is why every flag is yours to check. We are still testing how it copes with difficult writing, and we will say so plainly.

What do students and parents see?

Students see the practice topics you approved. Parents get a short note such as “New feedback on Maths: 2 things to practise”, and can see those topics and progress.

Does it replace the teacher?

No. Spark drafts; you decide. The judgement stays with you.

Which grades and subjects?

We plan to begin with one grade and one subject at one school, and widen from there.

What else is in it for me?

Class rosters, class scheduling, and teaching tips for each class.
